Xbox 360 owners are now treated to yet another great expansion from the folks at Bethesda Softworks in the form of the latest downloadable content being offered to players on Xbox Live Marketplace, The Pitt. Released around March 25th, following some rather nasty initial glitches, the content expands Fallout 3 to include what remains of Pittsburgh, now turned into a primitive foundry run by slaves gathered from the Capital Wasteland.

More Decision Making, Moral Dilemma

While Operation Anchorage was a very linear experience, playing more like a first person shooter than a more traditional sandbox role-playing game – the Pitt feels more like an episodic chapter straight out of the Fallout 3 universe. After installing the expansion, the Vault Dweller will be confronted with a new radio signal as they wander the Capital Wasteland. A man called Wehrner is requesting assistance with regards to freeing slaves from his homeland, a land far to the north known as “The Pitt”.

Without giving too much away, suffice it to say that the moral decision making that is central to the role-playing experience in the Fallout universe is back for this episode, and as a matter of fact there is a bit more complexity to the plot than one might think upon the outset.
