'Just Cause 2' was released by Eidos and Square Enix for the PC, XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March 2010. It is the sequel to 2008's 'Just Cause' which followed CIA agent Rico Rodriguez attempting to overthrow an oppressive dictatorship on a fictional tropical island.
While the setting for the original was San Esperito in the Caribbean, the sequel heads across the globe to Panau, in Southeast Asia.
'Just Cause 2' Plot and Gameplay
The player progresses in the game by causing Chaos by any means possible. Destroying government property and propaganda are the easiest way to do this, and there are literally hundreds of settlements for the player to explore and liberate, ranging from military bases to tiny villages and large urban cities. Causing Chaos and collecting packages containing upgrades and weapon parts goes toward unlocking new missions, either following the main storyline or that of one of Panau's three Factions, the Reapers, the Roaches or the Ular Boys.
