The Photosimile 5000 takes its name as an office image machine from the familiar “facsimile” imaging device. With its functionality of producing a professional photo seconds after placing an object inside, for immediate use in all print, web and email communications.

The Photosimile 5000 combines a number of features usually found in professional photography studio.

The Camera

The heart of the Photosimile 5000 is a Canon Rebel XS DSLR. This offers 10 megapixel image resolution with the low noise and color fidelity expected of a professional camera system. The Live View technology facilitates the remote control of the camera using a software package on the PC.

The Light Tent

This a lighting system used to provide even shadow-free light on an object. The sides and top are made of translucent material with a number of lights shining through them. The Photosimile 5000 box is the light tent and it uses four symmetrical, daylight (6500K) bulbs so untrained operators do not have to worry about color-casts due color temperature.

The Tripod

For any close photography where focusing and depth of field are critical, any slight camera movement can ruin a shot. So professionals rely on a tripod to hold the camera absolutely sill while taking the shot.
